Channeling
AKA Mediumship
This is a type of medium ship where spirits of those who have passed over communicate through someone.
There are widespread discrepancies in the type of information provided by a medium. Often this is the inability to obtain relevant information or evidential confirmation beyond descriptions.
In recent years, scientific research has been undertaken to ascertain the validity of claims of medium ship. In an experiment undertaken by the British Psychology Society, the conclusion was that the test subjects demonstrated no mediumistic ability.
Other experiments which have seemingly found evidence of paranormal activity have been criticized for not establishing thorough test conditions.
Despite a lack of scientific evidence there are too many instances of 'evidential mediumship' proving sufficiently accurate for us to believe it is a real and valid ability.
There are several different variants of medium ship which we describe on different pages in this section.
The best known forms are where a spirit takes control of a medium's voice and uses it to relay a message (evp), or where the medium simply 'hears' the message and passes it on (mental medium ship). Other forms involve manifestations of the spirit, such as apparitions or the presence of a voice (physical medium ship), and Telekinetic activity.
Spiritualists classify types of mediumship into two main categories: "mental" and "physical":
Mental mediums "tune in" to the spirit world by listening, sensing, or seeing spirits or symbols.
Mediums have the ability to communicate with these spirits. They can bring messages from loved ones and offer evidence of survival and life after death. A medium reading is ideal to engage in conversation with the person with whom you're trying to communicate with.
Medium readings can also be used to contact animals in this manner.
Use mediumship to obtain messages and help from the afterworld.
Physical mediums are believed to produce materialization of spirits, apports of objects, and other effects such as knocking, rapping, bell-ringing, etc. by using "ectoplasm" created from the cells of their bodies and those of seance attendees.
During seances, mediums are said to go into trances, varying from light to deep, that permit spirits to control their minds.
Mediumship also forms part of the belief-system of some new age groups. In this context, and under the name "channelling", it refers to a medium (the "channel") who allegedly receives messages from a "teaching-spirit".
There are many examples of fraudulent activities with mediumship as the desire and need to please audiences resulted in stage theatrics.
These theatricals have damaged channeling and mediumship in the mainstream media.
There is an organization which offers a huge reward ($1million) to someone who can prove psychic or medium ship ability.
Despite repeated attempts to claim this reward no one has passed the tests in 20 or so years.
While the tests may be designed too rigorously even the most simple parts of the testing process have been failed by well known mediums.
There is no doubt in my mind that messages given to customers as well as descriptions of someone who has passed over are evidence of psychic ability.
There are problems however with mediums connecting with spirit. The kind which involves actually talking to a spirit. I (Jason) worked with someone who claimed to be a medium, although he was not, and saw how difficult it was to connect and give information. In recent months I have been seeing or feeling hte presence of spirits whenever i have done mediumship readings with my partner.

There are some important guidelines to understand when you are interested in developing spiritual gifts.
1. You need proper training and guidance to open up.
2. The more involved your gifts are, the more training you need.
3. Channelers and mediums are the most vulnerable of all psychics.
4. When you start to develop you come to the attention of good and bad spirits. You will be a target.
5. Protection, cleansing and strength is needed to follow the right path.
