Tea and Coffee Readings

History of Tea leaves and coffee grounds

we are experimenting with tea leaves and coffee grounds to see how accurate and interesting this process is for divination.

TasseographyTasseomancy: Means Cup Divination. Reading tea leaves or coffee grains that remain in a cup once the beverage has been consumed.

Tea leaves:

A very old style of divination that continues to this day in various parts of the world.

Loose tea is brewed in a pot and poured into a cup along with the tea leaves.

The tea is drunk while a question or thought of someone is in the drinkers mind.

Questions can be asked out loud.

After the tea is drunk the remains at the bottom of the cup are swirled around 3 times and the cup turned upside down quickly.

The tea leaves spread out on the saucer and at the bottom of the cup.

The patterns formed can then be read and understood to answer the question.

This is quite slow and not suitable for readings where time is limited. It is a fun way to pass the time in a group or family setting :)

Having tried this ourselves we can say it is surprisingly accurate.

Coffee Grounds

Similar system as described above except the coffee is prepared in the cup or even a special decanter with a filter.

The coffee grounds form patterns and these can be interpreted accordingly.

Some examples of patterns and their meaning in both styles of divination:

The Cup

Upper area and rim represents immediate present and future.

Middle Area up to a week ahead.

The Base is a week to a month or more ahead.

The Saucer

This represents the time frame and the energies involved. Star signs etc.
