Psychic Devolution

Psychic ability is usually discussed within the spiritual or parapsychology realms rather than the scientific. However, let's consider the possibility that there is something in our biology that causes "psychic phenomena."

Defining Psychic Ability

Research includes basic definitions and explanations for certain psychic abilities such as clairvoyance, clairaudience and clairsentience. There is not always a consensus on what constitutes each of these "clair-abilities".

For example, would the image of a symbol be enough to determine clairvoyant ability, or would a literal picture of an object or event clearly seen in the past, present or future be required?

It appears that what qualifies as a psychic gift is not universally agreed upon. This lack of consensus is also present when it comes to the question of accuracy: how truly accurate is a person when it comes to describing past, present and future events?

Can Psychic Ability Be Measured?

The scientific community, to date, has generally agreed that psychic ability cannot be measured because it is not an exact science. Most question whether or not psychic ability really exists at all. In other words, scientists are not willing to look at what might merely be an ability to be good at guessing or keen observation.

You have probably seen those online tests that measure if one is psychic. The participant is asked to guess what color or shape is hiding under a card. If one guesses correctly enough times, the results indicate that this individual has a high probability of being psychic.

Many psychics actually score poorly on these tests. According to the results, these psychics do no better than anyone else. Yet, the very same psychics, when reading for their clients, may have an uncanny ability to describe situations and events with a pretty good degree of accuracy. Among their abilities, they may be able to hear conversations and feel physical ailments. What explains this discrepancy?

Looking in the Wrong Place

Perhaps guessing the color or shape behind a card does not fully measure proof of psychic ability. Rather, it measures the result of a certain type of psychic ability. Predicting events or experiences is different from predicting shapes, and "predictions" are only a very small part of what psychic ability really is.

Surprisingly, being psychic has nothing to do with predicting the future. It is the ability to sense beyond our five basic senses information from the past, present and future. Not all psychics have the gift of prophecy, yet some of them are able to give exact details about someone's past (a divorce), medical ailments (stomach ache), or loved ones who have passed away (cause of death) with very little to no information about the person they are reading for or the situation. Perhaps the definition of "psychic" is what prevents the mainstream scientific community from accepting that there are people who have ESP.

Does it really go against logic to suspect that an explanation for psychic abilities is biological, or more specifically – instinctual? What we label as "psychic" may not necessarily be so special or "mystical." Some humans may be genetically predisposed to exercise a gene that has become increasingly dormant with every generation that passes.

All animals are imprinted with a natural intuition (called instinct) in which the primary function is to keep alive. Perhaps psychic ability is merely instinct that has been translated to fit today's dangers.

In the past, before our ancestors formed verbal communication, they had to communicate among each other and with the world around them in another way. Our ancestors just "knew" who to mate with to keep the bloodline going. They knew what situations were potentially dangerous. They knew where to find food. What our ancestors instinctively knew at one time seems to have weakened today. This could possibly be a reason why those who do not have this "psychic gene" may rely on others who do in order to find out things like:

Will I marry Him? (Who is the best mate for me to carry on the bloodline?)

Will I get the new job? (If I enter this situation, what are the odds of my survival?)

Where did I leave my wallet? (Exercising the ability to scavenge)

The theory that psychic ability is instinctual runs counter to the school of thought that states that ESP is evolutionary or a progressive trait. Rather, it embraces the idea that ESP is recessive and that it has managed to remain active in only a certain number of individuals. The ability has simply been phasing out as humans develop new forms of communication with each other and the world.

So, what if these scientists are measuring the wrong thing? What if scientists are measuring the outcome or the result of a trait (psychic ability) and not the actual trait itself? What if they are trying to measure just a piece of the trait via a limited definition, rather than taking the trait as a whole and measuring its individual parts?

A question such as, "Can a psychic accurately predict the future?" is incomplete because it assumes that psychic ability has only one characteristic: prophecy. It is rare to see reports done on individuals who claim to be psychic who are accurately able to locate ailments in a person they do not know. There is also not an emphasis placed on psychics who can accurately describe the lives and activities of people they have never met.

Could the reason for the lack of research be financial? Could it be that research into prophecies is more beneficial (interesting) than research into people who can identify medical ailments, talk to the dead or describe the personal history of another person? Who knows?

Perhaps the future will embrace a possible link between biology and psychic ability. Hopefully the doors will be opened to study this phenomenon, and like the fate of some animals, before it eventually becomes extinct.

Savant Theory:

There are stories of idiot savants (autism etc) who are able to calculate prime numbers beyond what technology could and many other feats. Is it possible that by changing how one perceives information, we could achieve interpret existing information differently and obtain some sort of psychic powers? If the powers in our mind are reduced in one area do our genes make up for that by enhancing another area. A lack of ability to associate with people emotionally raises our ability to perceive intellectually?

Improved Perception:

For stuff like dowsing, psychometric and the such, is it possible that humans (through one way or others - maybe mutations or some chemical in the brain) be able to perceive the world like animals does? For example, there are dogs which could detect cancer because of their incredible sense of smell. I know some people who can smell cancer or sense it as moving flowing shapes and colors. We can develop ways or perceiving things through genetic mutations but can this be taught as well?

Classes in extra sensory perception to develop 'psychic powers?' Will doctors and nurses benefit from 'medical ESP?'

Pheromones:

There is this biological process called pheromones in humans (and other animals) to manipulate (attract) others - is there any room in scientific thought that this could explain why psychics connect better to some people? Could one be able to perceive pheromones and hence achieve some form of limited mind reading or empathy read? Can this work at a distance or online as well?

Do pheromones produce the empathic responses some psychics have. Do these responses show in good and bad feelings about someone?

Universal Energy

We are surrounded by electrical transmissions we make but the world and the universe also makes energy waves that travel like sound waves through us and everything around us. Do psychics connect better to this energy? does this energy carry information like connections in a computer? Are we living in on giant bio electrical computer? like a Matrix 2.0.....

Psychic Abilities

Numerous scientific investigations have been made into the validity of human psychic abilities. Many have yielded statistical results that were a million to one against them happening by chance alone, and a few have been in the order of a billion to one, which is pretty conclusive proof.

It is a common misconception that people with psychic abilities must be highly evolved individuals. The possession of psychic abilities does not indicate a person's level of development anymore than the possession of great physical strength does. We all have psychic potential but our abilities usually lie dormant until they are activated. As with any skill, psychic abilities develop with regular use and diminish with lack of use. Psychic abilities can be learnt by anyone who takes the time and effort to learn them, but that time and effort would be better directed towards developing their consciousness. Psychic abilities that only surface when the person is in a trance often indicate a low level of personal development.

Some amazing psychic accomplishments are described in China's Super Psychics by Paul Dong and Thomas Raffill. The American magazine Omni was involved when some of the tests were set up to ensure there was no cheating, and they quickly became convinced that the children's abilities were real. The editor of Nature Magazine, a prestigious Chinese science journal also witnessed some the miraculous events described in the book, a few of which are summarized below:

A child took a sealed pill bottle off a shelf at random and placed it on a table. After a few moments the pills passed through the glass bottle and settled on the table. The child then placed a coin on the table and it passed back through the glass into the sealed bottle.

A thousand people sitting in an auditorium were each given a rose bud to hold. A six year old girl came on stage and with a silent wave of her hand the thousand rosebuds slowly opened into full bloom before the eyes of the astonished audience.

A blank piece of paper was placed into a closed pencil case and the child was asked to imagine that some words were written on the piece of paper. When the case was opened the imagined words were found to be actually written on the paper.

A random book was selected from a pile, it was then opened at random and a page was torn out, crumpled up and placed in the armpit of one of the children. With the page still screwed up and out of sight, the child could read every word.

The first two examples utilize teleportation and psychokinesis (both are examples of mind over matter) and the second two utilize clairvoyance (4D emotional-world [astral] sight). These, and various other psychic abilities, are explained below. The development of psychic abilities should never be forced. They should be left to develop naturally at a time when they will be beneficial to your development rather than being a distraction, an ego boost or a means of making money.

 Psychometry

Psychometry is "reading" the past history of an object by accessing the memory that is inherent in all matter (the akashic record). Some clairvoyants use psychometry to give psychic readings about people who are not present by sensing their vibrational energy from a personal item such as a ring or a watch. The vibrational energy patterns of the object in question set up sympathetic vibrations in the reader's subtle bodies, usually via the solar plexus chakra of their emotional body. This enables the stored memories to be accessed by their sub-conscious mind and subsequently raised up to conscious awareness.

Animals use a form of psychometry to guide them as they migrate across vast distances. The animal's solar plexus chakra sub-consciously perceives vibrations from the environment to guide it to its destination.

 Precognition

Precognition is acquiring knowledge of an event in advance of its occurrence by means of extra-sensory perception (ESP), premonition, prophetic dream or vision. Present events are the effects of causes that were set up in the past, and future events are the effects of causes that exist in the present. If the present causes are known it is possible to predict the effects that will most likely occur in the future. Objective causal consciousness is required to actually see the causes in the causal world and accurately predict the future, but only enlightened people possess this ability.

Causes work their way up from the world they originated to the causal world, then the effects work their way back down to the world they will manifest in. Clairvoyants may be able to see the effects as they work their way down through the emotional world before they manifest in the physical world, thus enabling them to predict the future. But they would have no way of knowing whether their vision related to an actual event or a fictional event created by someone's imagination. Predictions are only valid if no new causes are introduced, which is quite unlikely in the tumultuous world of mankind. A number of possible futures can sometimes be foreseen, and the one that manifests depends on choices of those involved. The certainty and accuracy of a prediction increases as the event approaches and the chances of new causes being introduced decreases.

Occasionally our guardian angels send us thoughts or images to warn us against doing something. Unfortunate consequences may be avoided or lessened if we heed their warnings. Such intervention usually only occurs to counteract the dastardly plans of a discarnate black magician. Many of the "bad" things that happen in our lives are directly caused by black magicians. In many cases our guardian angels will allow them to act (within the limits of our karma), but they will intervene if the event will adversely affect an important aspect of our life-plan.

 Psychokinesis (Telekinesis)

Psychokinesis is the ability to move or influence an object by the power of thought, without the application of physical force. The power of the mind (will-power) can directly influence physical matter because everything in existence has a degree of consciousness. Scientists know that the results of experiments involving subatomic particles can be changed by the thoughts of those who are observing the experiment. If a subatomic particle of matter can be influenced by the uncontrolled consciousness of a scientist, it follows that larger material forms can be influenced by someone with a well trained, better developed and highly controlled consciousness. Nature spirits can also be invoked to move objects but that is magic not psychokinesis.

Levitation

Levitation is the process by which a physical object (or human body) is raised into the air without physical contact. It can be accomplished by three methods:

1. A non-physical entity at a seance draws energy from a medium's etheric body to temporarily materialize their finger tips, thus enable them to lift the medium or object.

2. Etheric nature spirits may be invoked to lift the object.

3. The law of gravity can be locally reversed to allow the object to hover and defy gravity.

 Teleportation

Physical matter can be temporarily de-materialized into etheric matter to enable it to pass through a solid object or be teleported to another location before being re-materialized. This is achieved by energizing the object with sufficient vibratory energy to allow the molecules to separate out into their constituent primary atomic particles. Provided the etheric template of the object is not damaged the atomic particles will recombine to assume their original form as soon as the energy is withdrawn. The transmutation of base metals into gold by medieval alchemists was also accomplished by reducing the metal to the atomic state before rearranging the atomic particles into the molecular structure of gold.

Telepathy

Telepathy is a method of communication which does not utilize the physical senses but employs the direct transference of ideas, thoughts or emotions. There are three types of telepathy:

Instinctive Telepathy - The lowest type of telepathy is an instinctive and sub-conscious faculty that we all possess to a degree. It is the least effective type of telepathy, but it is more successful between people with close emotional bonds, such as mother and child or twins. It is only capable of sending and receiving vague sub-conscious impressions, such as sensing that someone is watching you or knowing who is calling when the phone rings. The faculty is difficult to use in a controlled manner and generally only happens spontaneously, which makes it difficult to scientifically prove. Numerous studies have yielded statistically significant results (that were unlikely to have occurred by chance alone) but they have not proved that it is consistently possible to transfer information directly from mind to mind.

The higher types of telepathy are capable of sending and receiving coherent information, but only when both people are at the appropriate developmental stage and are sufficiently practiced:

  • Mental Telepathy is true telepathy – direct mind to mind communication. Everyone at the civilized stage and above possesses it to a degree, but it can only be consciously controlled at the humanistic stage when the throat chakra is fully active and the brow chakra begins to activate. Mental telepathy can be likened to non-verbal conversation, but without the misconceptions and misunderstandings that often accompany verbal communication. Over the next few hundred years increasing numbers of advanced humans will naturally develop this ability.
  • Causal Telepathy goes beyond linear thoughts and enables entire concepts to be fully conveyed in an instant. Everyone at the developed stage and above possesses it to a degree, but it can only be consciously controlled at the enlightened stage when the brow chakra is fully active and the crown chakra begins to activate. The phrase "a picture paints a thousand words" sums up causal telepathy. If mental telepathy is likened to reading a textbook, causal telepathy is like instantly understanding the entire subject without having to read any books.

Telepathy is not just an alternative form of communication that only a few highly developed individuals can use; we all unknowingly use it on a daily basis to supplement our verbal communication. Whenever we explain something to somebody, our thoughts telepathically convey impressions which supplement our words. This helps other people to understand us better on an intellectual level or to empathize with us on an emotional level.

People naturally assume that we generate our own thoughts and emotions, but most of them don't actually originate inside our subtle bodies – they are perceived telepathically. We live in a "sea" of other people's ideas, thoughts and emotions, which psychologist Carl Jung referred to as the "collective unconsciousness". Telepathy is the portion of the collective unconsciousness that we are able to consciously perceive. The range of ideas from the collective unconsciousness that we are capable of perceiving depends on the range of active molecular types in our subtle bodies.

Our subtle bodies sub-consciously attract thought-forms from the "collective unconsciousness" that match our current state of mind and level of consciousness (because they are the ones we will most likely be interested in) and present them to our conscious minds. But our conscious minds have no way of knowing whether "our" thoughts and emotions originated from within us or from outside. Mass thinking, mass psychosis, mob behavior and public opinion are all telepathic phenomena that draw from the collective unconsciousness, often manipulated by a powerful medium of this energy (a charismatic person).

There are very few original new ideas  – most ideas are just borrowed from the collective unconsciousness. The recycled thoughts and ideas are revitalized by the attention each person gives them, which prevents them from slowly disintegrating. All ideas originate from this shared collectiveness, so unless an individual possesses 'selfish' or individual consciousness (objective or subjective) they are incapable of coming up with completely new ideas.

Mental consciousness can only receive ideas that have already been thought of (and adapt them to its needs). When we have a problem to solve we subconsciously or (magnetically) attract the appropriate ideas that will provide us with the solution. It is common to feel a sense of pride when we have a "bright idea", but all we have actually done is manifest or attract a pre-existing idea.
